We bee with it! APRIL

My turn to host this bee. For this month I am asking for 9 little Polaroids. With just the white and untrimmed.  Here is the tutorial:

And here is my example:

Just fussy cut 9 of your favorite prints and follow the chain piecing tutorial stopping with your white untrimmed block where she makes the note. I will put them all together with the same gray when I get them.  I'm not looking for any prints in particular, but include something personal and cute. Try to use a Kona white or something similar. And if you have extra gray 6 inch square could you include it in your package? I am making a "50 Shades of Gray fabrics" quilt and I have starting collecting fat quarters, but I don't know if I will be able to get 50 all on my own although I am up to about 20. If you have any questions just let me know!

Quickly, quickly

March is flying by quickly at my house. My husband finished up his first half of training about two weeks ago and has had most days free while waiting for the rest of his class to catch up so we have been taking advantage of our time together to do stuff as a family. Including a week long visit from my parents. Im glad they are gone but of course I will miss them too. They kept the little ones entertained, but I had to entertain them. Once they left I realized I needed to crack down and start my bee blocks. I have all of them done now and ready to do some more of my own stuff.

I finally finished my first mini from the Fresh Mini Quilt Club. I love the colors. The pattern is emailed every first of the month so the next one is almost here. Once I see it I am going to decide it'd I want to make 12 minis or take some of them and put them into a bigger quilt sampler.

Now if only I could finish my March goal...I really don't see it happening, but you never know when I will get some free time :)

On my table: WIP Wednesday

A little peak into what I'm working on. I can never just sit and do one project. I like to combine steps. Since I work off of such a small space I have to set up to iron or cut each time. Here you can see I was doing all my piece work for my Fresh Mini quilt and one of my bee blocks.

The colors are a bit off in this picture.
The outside purple ring really messed up in this picture.

And I've cut up half of charms for the Amy Butler Charm Swap.

But now I have to clean my table off and scrub the rest of the house down...My mother is coming into town and is a clean freak. She says she doesn't mind a mess, but even after I clean up to my standards she will still think it's messy. A lose, lose situation if you ask me. But my place needs a good cleaning and she is good motivation.

Are you ready for a good spring cleaning?

March Goal Setting

I am setting my goals for March a little more reasonable. My parents are coming into town for a week, then my husband and I are taking the boys to Universal. I might be able to get a little sewing done while my mom is here to watch the kiddos, but probably not. So for March I am going to keep it to one baby quilt and my bee blocks.

Giant Bella Hexies

I have been holding on to a Bella layer cake and had a couple different ideas for it (like here and here), but I finally decided to try some machine piecing hexagons. Since I am in the Get Your Hex On bee, I have been doing a lot of studying on hexies lately and decided to give this a try.
